For executives, leadership teams and organisations

When what made the company great is now holding it back.

Conscious leadership at business-critical turning points.

David Liebnau
We have tried everything that used to work.
I no longer know where to start.

Neither is a competence problem. Both are transitions. The business model still carries, but the curve shows it will not carry much longer. The executive is experienced, but the experience no longer fits the situation. The team works harder and moves slower.

What happens next is usually more of the same. Another programme, another reporting line, another reorganisation. The best people burn out first. Exactly the people whose energy the next answer would have to come from.

Results

What the work gives you.

Spaces where people speak honestly with each other. Where different perspectives can surface, because everyone feels welcome bringing them. Open listening is what makes that possible, and it’s exactly what I work on with the team.

The knowledge already inside the company becomes available again. In leadership teams stuck reacting, it is there, but no one can reach it.

An honest picture of the situation. No glossing over, no blame, with the people in the room who are affected.

A team that can work through difficult emotions together and becomes capable of innovation again through constructive conflict. They can correct each other instead of avoiding — even through stacked crises.

What you end up with are decisions the leadership team genuinely carries — decisions that survive everyday work, because they get built into it. And a team that shapes things again, instead of reacting to the next disruption.

All of this succeeds through the method of creative dialogue.

The four steps in detail

David is one of the strongest learning & development professionals I have had the pleasure of working with. His sharp mind and refreshing recommendations were highly appreciated by senior executives and had real impact on these leaders and their organisations!
Pa M.K. Sinyan Regional Managing Partner EMEA, Gallup

For years the job was everything. No private life, no distance, never really satisfied — no matter what the team delivered. I wanted to work less in the company — and more on it. I wanted to have a life again.

Thanks to David’s coaching, internal alignment now runs more smoothly, motivation is higher, and it comes more easily to me to express appreciation. That has intensified performance as well.

My people take on more responsibility. And the relationship with my clients is more trusting.

I have had feedback from outside and in my private life that I move through life more calmly and carry more quiet inside me. My communication has improved, my relationships have deepened.

I can enjoy my life considerably more.

David is a truly wonderful coach: very approachable, very personal and very competent. He brings together his life, professional and leadership experience with emotional depth, a touch of spirituality and a twinkle-in-the-eye view of life. He accompanied my (re-)entry into a new job. Every session with him was emotional, was fun, and gave me new insights. I would work with him again at any time and would confide in him without hesitation.

I have got to know David as a fantastic trainer, with a unique strength and authenticity when it comes to the topic of leading oneself. His guidance and insights have been invaluable in helping our newly announced leaders to build up core leadership skills and navigate these uncertain times. I highly recommend David for anyone looking to embarque on a self-development journey.
Viktor Szücs Senior Director Leadership Development and Cultural Transformation, Lufthansa Group

Everything is built for the specific situation. That is why there is no price list. After the briefing conversation you receive an outline with format, scope and price, and then you decide.

If this sounds helpful, a conversation is the fastest way to find out whether I am the right person.

Scope

Where I am not the right fit.

For off-the-shelf training. For programmes meant to replace a decision the leadership does not want to make. For situations where the outcome is already fixed and only agreement is being collected.
Evidence

Built, led, owned.

Over the past 25 years I have designed and led multi-million development programmes for more than 20,000 participants. First as Senior Learning & Development Consultant at Gallup, later as Managing Director and Client Director at SYNK GROUP. During that time, one of the SYNK GROUP programmes I designed and led for Deutsche Bahn received the HR Excellence Award in the category “Konzernführungskräfte”.

Revenue responsibility, leading international teams, handling stacked crises, decisions without sufficient information: I know the side of the table my clients sit on.

Since 2019 we have jointly developed and delivered an extensive leadership programme together with SYNK GROUP and David Liebnau as Client Director and Senior Expert. Several hundred ZF leaders have taken part and given very good feedback. Many THANKS for that.

Working with David is a joy, every time. We share the same idea of quality and client value, and together we are always ready to go the last mile for top performance. Alongside that highly professional attitude, the fun never falls short. Above all, his eye for the human side in every situation makes him valuable in professional and in private life. I have learned so much about training, coaching, leadership development, mindfulness and much, much more...

The next step

Briefing conversation.

60 minutes, free of charge, by video. You describe the situation. I ask questions and tell you honestly whether I am the right person. If I am, you receive an outline with format, scope, timeline and price within a week. If I am not, I tell you who I would recommend instead.
